The constant winds produce thick skinned grapes, resulting in richness and concentration of flavors. The proximity to the river moderates heat, allowing for longer hang time and more flavor development over the course of the growing season.

The nose shows intense ripe blackberry and currant balanced with cedar, tobacco, and pencil shavings. The palate is intense, dark, ripe black fruit and sweet oak through the midpalate, with fine, soft tannins, and a long, lingering finish.
