Tasting notes:
This Sauvignon Blanc is bright and expressive, with aromas of white peach, Meyer lemon, and passionfruit. The palate is lively, framed by lime zest, lemongrass, and a clean mineral edge that carries through the refreshing finish.
Vintage Information:
2025 began as a moderate year, with average temperatures trending along with long term averages until early June, when several back-to-back heat waves indicated we would be in for a hot year. Nearly zero precipitation between mid-June and early September stressed vines and concentrated flavors until several rain events beginning mid-September through the end of October put the breaks on what could have been a record-breaking hot year in Washington State.
Winemaking Notes:
The 2025 Sauvignon Blanc was picked between September 3rd and 16th, allowing for flavor development, but also retaining the bright acidity of the variety. The grapes were pressed gently and fermented cool to preserve the delicate aromas. The wine was then blended, heat stabilized and treated with electrodialysis for cold stability.
Vineyard Notes:
This Sauvignon Blanc comes from two of our cooler sites: McNary Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills and Zillah Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills. McNary Vineyard is a windy and cooler site on a cliff overlooking the Columbia River. Zillah Vineyard is an extremely windy site high in the Rattlesnake Hills at around 1,200 feet above sea level. McNary Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc leans more peach/tropical in flavors, while Zillah Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc contributes bright citrus and minerality.
