Winemaking notes: These Syrah grapes were picked on September 16th and fermented on the skins for 7 days using gently pump overs to control extraction. The resulting wine was aged in tank for 9 months with a combination of French and American oak staves and micro-oxygenation before release.

Vineyard Information: Grapes for this Syrah come from two of our estate vineyards: McNary Vineyard and Soaring Eagle Vineyard.
McNary is our coolest vineyard, planted on basalt cliffs overlooking the Columbia River in the Horse Heaven Hills. This stunning, panoramic vineyard is tempered by the proximity to the river and intense winds allowing for longer hang time for flavor development. Syrah from McNary Vineyard leans old-world in style, with richness and varietal typicity.
Soaring Eagle Vineyard, better known as Indian Wells, is planted on south facing slopes of fine sandy loam on the Wahluke Slope. This hot vineyard site produces Syrah that is fruit forward and supple from vines that were planted in 2001.
