Tasting notes:
This Pinot Gris is delicate and aromatic, opening with Bartlett pear, yellow apple, and honeysuckle. Subtle notes of beeswax and honey add texture, while flavors of Asian pear and clementine carry through to a soft, gently lifted finish.
Vintage Information:
2025 began as a moderate year, with average temperatures trending along with long term averages until early June, when several back-to-back heat waves indicated we would be in for a hot year. Nearly zero precipitation between mid-June and early September stressed vines and concentrated flavors until several rain events beginning mid-September through the end of October put the breaks on what could have been a record-breaking hot year in Washington State.
Winemaking Notes:
The 2025 Pinot Gris was picked between August 30th and September 23th, 2025. The grapes were pressed gently, with the hard press juice settled and treated separately. It was fermented cool to preserve the delicate aromas. The wine was then blended, heat stabilized and treated with electrodialysis for cold stability.
Vineyard Notes:
This Pinot Gris comes from two of our cooler sites: Zillah Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills and McNary Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills. Zillah Vineyard is an extremely windy site high in the Rattlesnake Hills at around 1,200 feet above sea level. McNary Vineyard is a windy and cooler site on a cliff overlooking the Columbia River.
