Vineyard Information: 95% Columbia Valley AVA, 5% Horse Heaven AVA The majority of the fruit used in this wine comes from our own Beverly Vineyard - a hot vineyard site in the Columbia Valley AVA, north of the Wahluke Slope. It is set amid beautiful old-growth sagebrush country of central Washington and flush with abundant, high-desert wildlife. Beverly is conventionally farmed with no cover crops. Average yields are very low – less than three tons per acre. It is raw, rugged and simply powerful, from the surrounding landscape to the wines produced from these vines.
The heat at Beverly helps move along the late-ripening Mourvèdre and concentrate the flavors and aromas.
Varietal Composition: 95% Mourvedre, 5% Grenache
Winemaking Regimen: Aged in oak barrels
Winemaker’s Notes: This wine is vibrant ruby in color and the nose shows aromas of mountain blackberry and black plum, and warm chai spice. Juicy red plum, and grilled meat dominate the palate, but you can find black pepper, black pepper, and baking spice can be found woven from the mid-palate through the finish.
