McNary, as a cooler location, benefits from an essential environmental factor for exceptional red wine color—light. The long days promote color development in our Studio blocks, while the interplay of light and cool breezes maintains a savory profile for the McNary Cabernet. True to the character of the Horse Heaven Hills, this wine is marked by brooding aromas of crushed red fruit, accented by a touch of sage and spice. While the tannins are initially bold in the winemaking process, they soften and integrate with a toasted nuttiness during French oak aging. The result is a rich, yet balanced wine, with one arm extended towards dark fruit and the other towards a structured, obelisk-like palate.
