Vineyard Information: The 2022 Mourvèdre comes from our own Beverly Vineyard - a hot vineyard site in the Columbia Valley AVA, north of the Wahluke Slope. It is set amid beautiful old-growth sagebrush country of central Washington and flush with abundant, high-desert wildlife. Beverly is conventionally farmed with no cover crops. Average yields are very low – less than three tons per acre. It is raw, rugged and simply powerful, from the surrounding landscape to the wines produced from these vines.
Varietal Composition: 100% Mourvèdre
Winemaking Regimen: Aged in concrete tanks for 9 months, before seeing neutral oak.
Winemaker’s Notes: Aromas of crushed black peppercorn, blackberry, jerky and game meat lead into baked plum, five-spice, and blacker peppercorn on the palate. The finish is long and very spicy. Overall, this wine is a beautiful balance between sweet, dark fruit, and savory spice.
