Tasting notes:
This 2025 Chardonnay is delicate and fresh, with lifted aromas of jasmine, honeydew, and chalk. The palate shows crisp apple and pear alongside soft apricot tones, finishing light, floral, and quietly mineral.
Vintage Information:
2025 began as a moderate year, with average temperatures trending along with long term averages until early June, when several back-to-back heat waves indicated we would be in for a hot year. Nearly zero precipitation between mid-June and early September stressed vines and concentrated flavors until several rain events beginning mid-September through the end of October put the breaks on what could have been a record-breaking hot year in Washington State.
Winemaking Notes:
The 2025 Naked Chardonnay was picked between September 16th and September 25th, 2025 after a long, hot summer. The grapes were pressed gently, and fermented cool. The wine was then blended, heat stabilized and treated with electrodialysis for cold stability.
Vineyard Notes:
This Chardonnay comes from two warmer sites: Four Feathers Vineyard in the Columbia Valley and Soaring Eagle Vineyard on the Wahluke slope. The Chardonnay block at Four Feathers Vineyard is being farmed organically, while the Chardonnay at Soaring Eagle Vineyard is farmed conventionally.
