Winemakers Notes: The 2024 Oaked Chardonnay from McNary Vineyard is a beautifully textured and expressive wine, showcasing the depth and complexity from one of our favorite parcels in the vineyard. The wine was aged in 60% new French barrels and 40% stainless steel, adding to its complexity. On the nose, it opens with rich aromas of toasted vanilla, buttered brioche, and hints of warm spice, intertwined with layers of ripe fruit, including golden apple and lemon curd. The palate is full and round, with flavors of creamy custard, ripe peach, and a touch of honey, balanced by a soft, buttery texture that is perfectly integrated with the subtle oak influence. A gentle acidity provides structure and freshness, while the finish lingers with notes of toasted almonds and a hint of baking spice.
